Brown & black

Hello. Happy New Year! I celebrated around Balls Head Reserve in Waverton, which was lots of fun! We had a great view of the fireworks, which were spectacular as always!

Well we’ve had some internet issues, hence my lack of blogging! I wore this about a week ago, when I caught up with a friend. We drank lots of pear cider, my favourite drink at the moment!

Outfit details: Everything from various opshops & vintage boots

Floral suit

Hello. This afternoon, my father came home with a bag of clothes from a family friend, for my sister and I to look at. I love it when people give us clothes, hehe. Hand-me-downs are the best! Although I didn’t find anything I’d wear, with the exception of this floral printed suit! Now I don’t think I’d ever wear it with the skirt & jacket together…it’s a little too much. What do you think?

Outfit details: shirt: Country Road (via opshop), floral suit: hand-me-down, flats: opshop

Without the jacket?

Hmmmm?

Yes, I think I’d definitely wear them as separate pieces!

Coffee at The Mint

Hello. I managed to take a few snapshots before I went out today. I had my haircut in the morning, which turned out well & then met Adrian for coffee. We ended up going to The Mint, next to the Hyde Park Barracks which was nice. It’s a rather fancy pants place to eat, and we saw a few people dressed up in heels going to a private room, but we were just having coffee!

After we went to a cafe for juice in Paddington. We walked for quite a while! And I bought this jacket in Shanghai last year & love it!

Outfit details: shirt: Sportscraft (via opshop), jacket: bought in Shanghai, jeans: Witchery, shoes: opshop

Draped in grey

Hello. I found this dress in Vinnies the other day and it’s by an Australian brand Shakuhachi. I saw another dress by this same brand there too- and remember seeing it in a magazine for $240! Obviously it was a lot cheaper at vinnies! But I realised I’d wear this dress more and I have been wearing it for the past 3 days! It’s a great comfortable weekend dress, thats a little bit stylish too. I bought these bracelets in China last year, it’s a pity I don’t wear my jewellery all that much.

Outfit details- dress: Shakuhachi (via opshop), ballet flats: opshop, bracelets: China

Romeo & Juliet

Hello. This afternoon I was lucky enough to see the ballet Romeo & Juliet at the Opera House. It was magnificent! I just loved every moment of it. I actually started adult ballet classes a few months ago, and although I’m not that great, I’ve started to have a real appreciation for ballet. The costumes were just stunning, as was the music.

Going to the ballet or theatre is such a nice way to get dressed up, it’s just so much fun! I was really lucky to find this stunning Lisa Ho cropped red velvet jacket at Vinnies a few days ago. And it just so happened to go perfectly well with this gifted Zara dress which I adore. I thought about wearing heels, but ended up wearing red flats instead. I always go for comfort!

Outfit details: dress: Zara (gift), jacket: Lisa Ho (opshop), red flats (opshop), satchel: vintage

Vintage twist

Hello. Today has been rather lovely & I’m in a very calm mood. You see I had a massage at 1:30pm, which was a birthday gift a few months ago. And today being the 1st of December (and the first day of summer!), it seemed the perfect day to spoil myself. It was wonderful & very relaxing. Afterwards I had a coffee at a nearby cafe and started the novel “Playing with Grown Ups” by Sophie Dahl.

What I’m wearing are recent opshop acquisitions. I’ve worn this pretty blouse several times already, and same with the pants- which are a perfect fit!

I called the post “Vintage twist” because my top & pants seem rather ladylike and modern, and I’ve also added some brogues and a leather satchel which I suppose gives it a vintage twist! These are the kind of outfits I like…classic pieces and vintage accessories.

Outfit details- top: opshop, pants: Sussan (opshop), brogues: Glebe markets, satchel: vintage

Sunday…

Hello. This is what I wore on this glorious Sunday! After almost a week of rain, today was sunny & gorgeous and I had a lovely day. I applied for jobs (ok, not too exciting), caught up with friends and went swimming.

And I got these rather short denim shorts out! One of the rare pieces I have actually bought brand new. They’re from a shop called Nu & Nan and I really like them- the high waist, curved edges and dark colour.

Outfit details: shorts: Nu & Nan, shirt: opshop, shoes: Wittner
